Videos: QB Tim Tebow shows improvement at Eagles open practice

Quarterback Tim Tebow struggled early during the Eagles' practice open to fans at Lincoln Financial Field Sunday, throwing passes too low and high during warm ups. But as practice went on, Tebow's throwing showed improvement, and his throws were more accurate.

Tebow struggled throwing passes to receivers on air, but performed better during practice settings resembling game situations (11-on-11 and 7-on-7 drills). At one point he got into the secondary on a read-option run. Later he connected on an intermediate pass in tight coverage.

Tebow looked, as usual, most comfortable when running.

It helped, of course, that defenders are not allowed to touch QBs during practice.

Overall, Sunday was not a bad showing for Tebow.

Tebow ran with Philly's third-team offense. The Eagles will take on the Colts in Week 1 of preseason play on Sunday, Aug. 16 on CBS. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.

EA places Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas in Madden 15 cover vote

EA Sports revealed the sixteen players that will square off in this year's edition of the Madden NFL video game cover vote during the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday evening.

Denver Broncos fifth-year wide receiver Demaryius Thomas is among the candidates to be on the next cover. Thomas, 6-3, 229 pounds, has earned back-to-back Pro Bowl selections over the past two seasons after catching 186 passes for 2,864 yards and 24 touchdowns since quarterback Peyton Manning arrived in Denver via free agency in 2012.

Thomas is a long shot to make it past it past the first round of voting as he is up against the reigning Defensive Player of the Year—Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly, who was featured in the game's first promo video earlier this month.

In addition to Thomas and Kuechly, Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery, Saints tight end Jimmy Graham, Packers running back Eddie Lacy, 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, Steelers receiver Antonio Brown, Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, Bengals receiver A.J. Green, Eagles running back LeSean McCoy, Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton, Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, Redskins running back Alfred Morris, and Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman have also been nominated to grace the cover.

Sherman and Kuechly are the favorites to win the vote.

Madden 15 will hit stores August 26. Fans can vote for the cover athlete at ESPN.com.

VIDEO: Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks Preseason Highlights

The Denver Broncos were embarrassed by the Seattle Seahawks 40-10 over the weekend.  Denver will return to the practice field on Monday and will host the St. Louis Rams on Saturday.

On a different note, I have joined the staff at MileHighReport.com, where I will be doing most of my Broncos coverage going forward.  Go check out the site!

VIDEO: Peyton and Eli Manning Sing "Football On Your Phone"

The Manning brothers—Peyton and Eli—are among the most popular athletes in America, due in part to the fact that they own three combined Super Bowl victories.  That makes them marketable, which benefits all of us in the long run.

If Manning didn't earn $10 million annually from endorsements with Buick, Reebok, Sony, Wheaties, Gatorade, Papa John's, and DirecTV—specifically DirecTV in this case—we wouldn't get gems like this:

Simply brilliant.  And hilarious.

This isn't the first time Peyton and Eli have teamed up in an ad, or the first time they've done a DirecTV spot.  The two will face off in Week 2 this season when Peyton's Broncos travel to New York to take on Eli's Giants on Sunday, September 15.

Film Room: Cornerback Nigel Malone vs. TCU (2012 Season)

The Denver Broncos claimed rookie cornerback Nigel Malone off waivers on Thursday.  In the East-West Shrine Game in January, Malone shined, returning an interception 30 yards for a score.

Below is film of Malone from last season against Texas Christian University:

Malone's Wildcats won the game, 23-10.  Read my observations from the film after the jump.

VIDEO: Denver's Von Miller Says Broncos Will Remain "Focused"

On Monday, news broke that Denver Broncos star outside linebacker Von Miller is facing a four-game suspension for breaking the league's substance-abuse policy.

Miller is going to appeal the suspension and has maintained that he did "nothing wrong," and he is being supported by the NFL Players Association.  For his part, coach John Fox said on Wednesday that Miller will not face punishment from the team and will practice with the first-team defense until the Broncos "hear something differently."

"We're focused on the task at hand," added Miller.

Miller emphasized that he could not candidly comment on the situation until it is resolved.  It is expected to be "resolved" by September, when the league will either comply with Miller's appeal or enforce his suspension.

Once a decision has been made, details on as to why Miller was suspended will probably come out.  According to the NFLPA, he was not suspended for PEDs, which raises suspicion that he may have been docked for recreational drugs.

Miller will join his teammates at practice tomorrow morning when the team kicks off training camp practices.  Until a decision is made by the league's front office, it will be business as usual at Dove Valley.
